PATENT
PROSECTOR
Cesari and McKenna is seeking an associate or patent agent with at least 2 to 5 years of patent prosecution experience, and a background in electrical engineering or computer-related technologies. You will join an experienced team of attorneys, agents, and staff that represents a wide range of cutting-edge technology company clients. The role will include significant patent drafting and patent prosecution responsibilities. Depending on interest, the role may also include opportunities related to patentability analysis and freedom to operate studies, Inter Partes Review proceedings/reexaminations, trademark prosecution, and other areas of IP law. The firm provides an informal, collaborative working environment and the opportunity for substantial client contact and professional growth. Remote, in office, or hybrid schedules are possible.
Key skills and Experience:

A USPTO registration number,
-
Admitted to, and in good standing in, Massachusetts or the ability to become so admitted,

A technical degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science is preferred, however we will consider candidates with other degrees who have practical experience with electrical engineering or computer-related technologies,

Experience as an associate or agent at a law firm with an active patent prosecution practice

Experience preparing and successfully prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications,

Excellent written and verbal communication skills,

Self-motivation and the ability to independently manage competing responsibilities and deadlines, and

An entrepreneurial outlook and a keen interest in business development and helping to maintain and grow client relationships.
